| Q: |
Do Japanese ceramics contain harmful metals
that leach into the beverage? |
| A: |
The pottery is perfectly safe to use for everyday
dining. Although the glazes and decorations on the pieces contain various
metals, they do not leach out of the finish in any way.
Some countries do not allow these products to be sold for actual use, so
we are required to inform you that these products are for display purposes
only.
However, the Japanese use these products on a daily basis to eat on and
drink tea and coffee with, and they have the longest life expectancy in
the world. |

| Q: |
Are the products microwave safe? |
| A: |
No, they are not. As most wares contain various
metals in small amounts, they should not be used in the microwave. Some
wares, including the wares from Arita which do not have metals and do not
utilize gold or silver glazes, may be used in the microwave. |
